The series of Headstock and Tailstock Positionerthat we manufacture can be used for a variety of parts and weldments. A head and tailstock welding positioner is typically used for long rectangular shapes that must be supported from both ends. Both fixed height rotation centerline and power elevating models are available for ergonomic placement of the weldment.

Screw Jack and Geared Elevation models are available. Optional manually and powered mobile sub-bases can be provided on rails for varying part lengths, which allow different length weldments to be positioned with one station. With a large rotation speed range, all welding processes can be accommodated, such as MIG, TIG, SAW, and Laser welding.

A typical configuration consists of a driven headstock positioner with an idler tailstock. Dual synchronized headstocks can be used for exceptionally long parts or parts that have torsion concerns. Robotic versions and manual applications can be accommodated depending on your specific needs.

Koike Aronson Ransome Welding Universal Balance Positionerallow for safe and quick manipulation of large, awkward work objects, especially when it is critical to maintain an efficient down-hand welding position. A welder can position objects up to 4,000 lbs, by simply applying fingertip pressure, a welder does not need to raise a helmet or break an arc.

The Welding Universal Balance principle is to intersect the rotational axis center of gravity with that of the tilt axis. Workpieces can then be rotated 360-degrees around both axes, and in most cases, around the Positioner column. A universally balanced load allows effortless access to any desired location upon a mounted fixture.

The Vertical Up Welder (VUP), a single pass Vertical-Up welder (VUP) can complete 10-12 vertical seams on a field erected storage tank with 8' tall x 1" thick seams in one work shift. X-Ray quality welds with one operator and one machine.

The frame consists of a vertical column mounted on a powered carriage and roller assembly that rides on the top edge of the tank shell.

Lift controls include up/down switch, high/low speed potentiometers and rapid speed selector that control a variable speed motor that is electronically integrated with the welding control, which

automatically adjusts speed to maintain the optimum nozzle to weld puddle relationship.

A Lincoln NA-3 head and control is supplied with two K-176 Nozzles for welding with either 3/32" or .120" diameter NR-431 Innershield wire. The NA-3 head is mounted on a free moving slide providing manual lateral adjustment. An air operated bracket supports an articulated copper shoe assembly.

Internal-external Seam Welderare cantilevered from one end that allows loading and unloading of open and closed sections onto the mandrel arm.


Our longitudinal seam welder can handle seam lengths from 2 to 12-feet, with diameters 4-1/2" and more. Pneumatically controlled aluminum clamps hold up to 3/8" thick material during the welding process.


A variety of water-cooled back-up bars with or without gas purge are available for several weld processes such as submerged arc, MIG, and TIG welding.


A powered rack and pinion drive carriage moves the welding head along the full seam length with additional 6" of travel allowing 3" for start and run-off tabs.

The Automatic Girth Welder (AGW) A.K.A. (3:00, 3 O'clock Welder) performs x-ray quality horizontal welds up to 20 times faster than standard manual techniques, cutting in-field welding time for storage tanks by up to 40%.

Operating at speeds from four to 105 inches per minute, the AGW can handle plates as thick as 1 3/4" and tank diameters from the largest to as small as 15'. The adjustable A-frame telescopes manually to handle six- to 10-feet high steel plates.

Ergonomically designed for efficiency, convenience, and accessibility, the AGW includes the Lincoln NA-3 solid state control and welding head fitted with nozzles, wire feed rolls, strengtheners and 50 lb. wire reels for either single or twin-arc wire.

Lincoln NA-5 controls as well as a DC-1000 power source is also available. The submerged arc flux belt mechanism ensures retention of the flux at the joint for efficient recycling.

It is available as a single sided or dual sided mobile welding station completely equipped with welding heads, all controls, flux support belts and flux recovery units.

The AGW straddles the tank shell plates, riding on serrated steel drive wheels that can be adjusted for tank diameter.

The AGW's operator platform is a sturdy and solid workstation with guardrails and all-weather curtains for operator safety and comfort. The double platform is fully equipped with its own direction and speed controls. An access ladder allows movement to the primary flux separator tank and to the side of the dual unit.
